Nice report and some pretty cool pics to boot. What is the best method of attack (flies etc....) ?

Tough to say, only spent 5 hours or so during the late morning to late afternoon. I worked the banks and structure with a mickey finn. There are tons of dragon fly larva shucks on the banks, too. The wind made it tricky, to really work the way I wanted to work. I had to take what the wind would give me in terms of positioning and casting. When the wind became to frustrating to stay in one place, I did try trolling a - mohair/secret pond green fly combo
- straight #6 black bugger and then combo'd it with a mickey finn
I used a clear intermediate sink line with a 3x leader for the entire on-the-water experience.

That pond is NOT easily fishable from shore, and I've got the scars and busted gear to prove it! Good thing you brought the tubes. Looks like you guys had a good time. Was the big pond crowded?

Rip, I only saw 1 bat for a fleeting instant the entire weekend. Maybe I was just missing them. Wonder if the pop has gotten hit by the white nose syndrome there too.

hahaha! well, we had an incident where i managed to ruin the welded loop on the 6wt line. besides...its easier to "roll cast" (more like flip...), and we weren't fishing out past 20' or so.

Tie some mono on with a nail knot (or even a double surgeons and use a shorter leader) or whip a mono loop on the 6wt then coat it with UV epoxy. Thats what I've done in the past (except I used CA glue, the epoxy provides a smoother finish) when I over used a fly line and screwed up the loop.
